Custom Wine Labels for Weddings

One of the newest trends in personalization is the use of
custom labels for wine bottles. There are some lovely designs available, both at Thinkwedding and other sites, but they serve a practical purpose as well. They mark the bottles that have been purchased by the couple, and make it difficult to switch brands or to charge for extra bottles.

In addition, some of our couples have used them as part of a table centerpiece surrounded by flowers. The wine bottle at the center of the centerpiece was to be used especially for the toasts to the bride and groom. Recently, we had a bride who had decided to attach place cards to small bottles of wine as a gift to her guests.

The bride who was using the tiny wine bottles as favors and place card holders did need to have our regular size altered so that the label wrapped around the bottle, but was only 2.5" high. Thinkwedding generally does this at no extra charge, and we did so in her case.

Wine bottle labels are not confined to bottles of wine, however. Our clients have used them on bottles of homemade and gourmet jams and jellies as favors and place card holders. The labels produced by Thinkwedding generally measure 4" tall and 3.33" wide, and, although they were designed for 1.5 liter wine bottles, will fit a wide assortment of bottles, including most .725 liter wine bottles, as well as other jars and bottles.

A wonderful finishing touch for wine and other bottles is to place them in
organza or translucent bags. There are a wide assortment of sizes of organza bags available for the purpose, as well as a wider assortment of colors.

Thinkwedding offers all kinds of themes as well as colors that match the colors of the wedding. Although we display each label with a specific color background, it can be altered to suit the tastes and needs of the bride. In addition, there is a wide assortment of religious and beach themes, as well as florals of all kinds.

We are often asked if we can place photos on a label, and how is it done. We can and do place photos on labels quite often for a flat charge of $4.50 regardless of the quantity of labels ordered. If the photo has been taken with a digital camera, it is generally in a file that ends with .jpg, and can be sent to us via email. If the photo is not in digital format, in other words, it was taken with a camera that has film in it, the photo or a copy of the photo can be sent to us to be scanned into a digital format.

When a couple orders labels, we send an email almost immediately to let them know that we have received the order, and to expect another email shortly with a screen capture of their completed order for their approval. At Thinkwedding, we don't print or ship your labels until they have been seen and approved. Changes, even if it wasn't what was originally ordered, are made at no charge. It can be hard to visualize a finished label in the font and font color, and we insist that our brides be happy with what they've ordered. It's very easy for all of us when using those drop-down boxes that list the styles to accidentally select the wrong design.

We have gotten emails back from brides in a panic after they saw the image of their order, because they thought they would have to pay for a design they ordered by mistake! Accidents happen, we don't charge extra for changes and we simply switched styles to the one they wanted and resent the image in the correct style.

Another request we often get is for a completely different design. In those cases, the bride and groom are using a specific graphic, and they would like to have it duplicated on a label. Usually, that's no problem, and if it doesn't take too long, there's no additional charge!

We hope that we have given you some useful ideas. Wine labels are a fun and inexpensive addition to a wedding.
